my physics teacher said that if there's ever a gas leak if your house, you should -not- switch off the lights!!!....hmmm...
oh well, i'll calm down now...

your house is in a fragile state of equilibrium. any sharp movements could affect this and cause equilibrium to shift and ultimately an explosion. technically you should not walk around the house as sparks can occur due to static electricity.
