The Student Room Group

Something is seriously wrong with my ear!!!!

I can hear sounds like typing on the keyboard right know really loud... it's only in my left ear and my right ear seems to be fine. I was at school today in assembly and due to the loud noise of students shouting etc. I started feeling slighty drowsy and sluggish :frown: My ear doesn't hurt at all, it's just that I can hear all sounds really really loud from my left ear, I noticed this yesterday...
oh and I have a toothache on my bottom left tooth (molar), do you think it could be linked with whats happening in my left ear...
Should I see my GP?
Please tell me it's because of my toothache, I dont want to have to wear a hearing aid for the rest of my life!!
I listen to music a lot with headphones (4-6 hrs per day with breaks) but its not loud.

HELP! :frown:
Is it blocked?

Why not? Life isn't a walk in the park.

No, if it was blocked I wouldn't be able to hear anything. I can hear, in fact it's too loud lol

Yes you could.
So maybe you have a hearing problem. Get it checked.

Nope, that can happen if it's blocked, I imagine it's a pressure thing. Worth popping to the doctors though.

Go to a doctor. The two are probably related, but only a qmp coould tell you for sure. xx

Just came back form my GP, he said the two are related. Now I have to see my dentist about the tooth...

If you are hearing the sounds loud, why speak about hearing aid?

i wake up in the morning completely deaf... that's always fun.

sounds as if your one ear is fine (ie the one you are hearing everything out of fine,) and it's the other which has the problem because it's a bit blocked... so your good ear is in overload.

try surringing it... if you are really concerned, then go to the doctor.. he can take a look and tell you exactly what's wrong!

Nearly all their posts are like that.
One of my ear's is nearly deaf at the moment, I'm hoping it's hayfever..

Could that be it?

What? if he's going deaf, that's the way it is, he has to live with it.
