    Computer Weekly is found to have an average of 3 misprints per page. What is the probability that:

    the last page has 6 misprints (the magazine has a total of 98 pages).

    how do i go about this? ne help pliz.

    Poisson? it involves rate (i.e. 3 misprints per page)

    I may be wrong...
    X~Po(3)

    P(X=6) = ...

    then use that result in a Binomial distribution, i.e. let Y be the random variable "the probability a page contains 6 misprints"
    Y~(98, ...)

    I'm not quite sure from the wording of the question, but if they mean ONLY the last page, then P(Y=1)

    I'm probably wrong, but maybe this'll give you a hint

    Well it's a poisson, with lambda = 3. Events are independent so you find P(x=6) for the last page.
