Breaking - Explosion in central Istanbul

There has been an explosion in a district of Istanbul popular with tourists, reports say, with several people said to have been injured.Turkey's Dogan news agency said the explosion occurred in the city's historic Sultanahmet district, close to the Blue Mosque.
Ambulances rushed to the scene of the blast and police have sealed off the area.


Look like tourists have been targeted again

Seems like soon to be another country of the Wests holiday destination list.

This whole thing is stupid to be honest, I say we get rid of the Turkish leader and put a democratic western leader in his place.

We need to stop tourism to Turkey. It is the necessary action. Same to all countries where this threat is most likely.

We just need to let them fail as it seems this is what they want

Any attempt to help will just set the usual suspects off again and cause more trouble for us in the long term

But is seems they are moving farther away from trying to join Europe.
Very sad, though I'd still go to Turkey in a heartbeat despite Erdogan.

That is the hope. We need them to destroy themselves to avoid any possibility they join Europe. If we thought this migrant crisis was bad wait until Turkey join

It's an impossible situation. But in a primarily Islamic country it was a matter of time before it happened again.

10 people were killed in the blast,9 were German nationals,must we continue to do nothing about Isis. Angela merkel needs to step down,no more influx of refugees

I was in sultanahmet,istanbul a few months ago in october 2015.

Beautiful city being ruined by incapable leaders and terrorists.
