Didn't it have the highest number of burglaries one year? I'm going to be living there too, and that's the only thing that people have said to me about it. Well, not everyone has said it, but when people have commented, that is what they've said. Personally, I'm not too bothered by it because everywhere in Lenton has a pretty high risk of burglary and that could have been a year where people were just particularly lax about security. For instance, the current residents of the house I'll be living in said they knew some people who were burgled, but by people they'd actually let in themselves.

Kimbolton Avenue Annoying Kid Watch

Not sure how worried you should be about it, and that just about exhausts my knowledge of crime and annoying neighbours in Kimbolton Avenue!

It's no worse than the roads durrounding it, i wouldn't worry really. Just be a bit more vigilant. I don't think it's any different to the rest of Lenton. xx
To be realistic, though, anywhere wher epeopl eknow there is a high student population is at risk of burglaries though, because they're seen as soft targets, so I wouldn't worry about it any more than you would anywhere else.

Also, street is the name of my school, how random...

Ok i got mugged last week on campus near the ark. While giving my statement etc. to the police i asked about the whole highest burglaries on Kimbolton and it is complete rubbish. The chief policeman at Canning Circus looked up the statistics after that got reported and it was complete bul****! Judgong by my experience anyway youd be more secure in Lenton than campus, although it was out of term time when i got mugged.
Wherever students live is a target, just be really really vigilant - don't leave windows open and stuff when you're out, don't leave doors unlocked etc.

I'm living in Kimbolton now, and it's not so bad  Nothing's happened to me or any of my housemates and never been mugged either. I'm moving next year but I wouldn't have minded staying on Kimbolton to be honest. There's a Co-Op round the corner and that comes in handy a LOT  Admittedly it's not nearly as good as living near Sainsbury's instead. (which I will be next year - yay!)

Anyway, yes there have been one or two instances where things have happened. Someone in 50-something got burgled, but then again apparently they left their door opened, so what did they expect, really? I think another got mugged around the Co-Op at one point. But other than those instances, I can't think of anything. Basically, be sensible - don't walk up Kimbolton on your own at night, and you should be fine. I even get a guy to walk me if I have to go to the Co-Op when it's dark and it's about 4 doors from me. But then again, the Co-Op is technically actually in Radford. Yep I live on the edge of Radford

All in all, I rather like Kimbolton. I feel safe in the house and I feel safe walking up and down the street in daylight. But as a girl, I wouldn't go anywhere alone when it's dark regardless of where I am. It's a convenient spot - near to bus stops, Sainsbury's, Co-Op, post office and the city centre. Takes us about 15-20min to walk to town/cornerhouse, about 10-15min to Sainsbury's, and then there's also Savoy down the road, which I've been to a few times by now. All in all, Kimbolton isn't that bad  It's not the best, let's not kid ourselves, but it's not so bad. My housemate's still safe and sound and she goes clubbing a few times a week and gets home after 3am and her mates usually only walk her half-way, and nothing's happened to her.

I didn't know you lived in Kimbolton! Mariana told me you - or Katie - don't remember - wanted to meet me at one point lol! I was living with Mariana as well.
I like it because it's convenient for work, lol... work being the Co-Op.

Thats exactly what happened to me. Do you know what kind of knife it was, or what the person looked like etc. by any chance?
