I have my year 11 prom this year and need to buy a dress soon. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good place to buy a dress from in London?
Thankyou

What sort of dress and what sort of budget? Places like New Look and DP etc all have fancy dress sections but if you're looking for something more special you will probably want a more specialist shop.

London is a huge area. Have you had a google of what is local and then looked on their websites??

Coast is pretty expensive, but their sale stuff can be very cheap - as cheap as new look etc but a better quality dress in my opinion. obviously it would be 'last season's style' but the classic styles are never outdated! there's actual coast stores (oxford street usually has a large sale rack) but the dresses are also stocked in debenhams etc
john lewis often has some pretty good sale stuff in the oxford street branch too, so it's worth a look if you're in central london. the longer/floor length dresses are especially good there i think
if you're of small/petite build don't forget to check out dresses in children's departments - as they sometimes go up to about age 15 and obviously some younger girls do try to look much older so the styles won't necessarily be 'twee'! probably your best bets for that would be somewhere like debenhams/bhs, but they're likely to be the shorter style dress instead of long
other outlets in debenhams like quiz etc often have a good selection, many are sequined/glittery too so quite partyish
lipsy sometimes has nice sale stuff too, particularly shorter dresses

hope you find something you like - i loved shopping for prom dresses (took sister shopping for hers too!) even though the budget was pretty tight, just have to commit to the sale rail!!

I bought my dress from Debenhams in a rush but in hindsight I wish I'd looked online! I didn't even think about online retailers such as Asos (they have such a stunning selection of prom/evening dresses that are so affordable!). You will most likely only wear the dress once so I would avoid expensive boutiques and stores, especially ones in London.
Hope you find something ✨

Either go down Fonthill Road, or get it off Boohoo or Misguided or something.
