I wonder if anyone in here got into an aerospace engineering course through clearing, or knows what are the chances of some places being available at schools like Southampton, Sheffield, Manchester based on what was open last year.

There are definitely places for aerospace through clearing, but for universities like Southampton the clearing grades are still quite high, like AAA - AAB

I was originally a medical school applicant. I actually got a conditional offer from St Georges London. Unfortunately I could not live up to the offer. On clearing I looked at Aerospace Universities. I got many offers with the ABB grade which I had. I got offers from Queen Mary, Brunel, Sheffield, and Loughborough.

I chose Aeronautical Engineering at Loughborough, as it was fairly high up the league tables, and is generally quite well respected for Engineering.

I regret choosing Loughborough as it is a fairly remote, downbeat and depressing town. I think I would have enjoyed my University experience a lot more if I had stayed in London. Nonetheless, the Aerospace facilities in Loughborough are great, and as an institution it has great links with industry - Rolls Royce, Airbus and BAE.
