I believe so. I think you have to apply for a Study Permit which will allow you to use it, but there are restrictions I think on the resources you can access at certain times eg. exam time. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone as I'd also like to know more...

Why the hell does one need to use LSE lib whilst the Senate House Lib and British Lib are just around the corner?

   Jesus! Lucky ****ers...and they only do social sciences. UCL should have a library like that considering it's a multifaculty.
Reply 7
Then UCL would need money XD.

The architecture is bloody impressive!

I like our library, it has a....studious feel about it, if you know what i mean.
Reply 10
Don't get me wrong, the UCL library looks really nice too. As you say acore; 'studious'.

But the LSE one is slightly better stocked and has more space to breathe.

Do you happen to have a picture of the UCL library? When i went to visit i saw a library which was for science i think  , but it was tiny...my one at college is bigger than that.

This is the 'main' UCL library, which deals with most of the humanities subjects I believe:

There's also a really 'cool' statue just outside of some dude spearing the **** out of a snake (Satan):

Oh wow that's beautiful...not the one i saw, doubt i'll be using that one though :frown: . Thanks for the picture.

At the risk of sounding incredibly stupid...is UCL also a museum? There were a lot of statues and paintings and stuff when i looked around it was really confusing...i asked my tour guide but his english wasn't great so i couldn't understand a word he said.:s-smilie:

Also is your avatar from fight club?
Any UoL student can use the library of any other UoL college.

However, the LSE library gets jam packed from early in the morning. Same goes for UCL at this time of the year but if you just need a quiet place to work - UCL is full of them. Tutorial rooms and lecture theatres usually suffice when the libraries fill up.

I don't think it's open to the public, no. We were security checked when we went in on the open day - not 100% sure on that, though. Universities just love hoarding loads of prestigious things, really. Haha.

Yus, indeed. That's Ed Norton holding a bar of soap saying 'Fight Club'.
Good spot!

Looking forward to September then? You can buy me a drink for the helpful pictures, if you like. :p:

Ooh rep! I love that stuff.
Doesn't come close to my rep on 'da street', though. Ha.

Fight Club is an awesome film, but I have some disagreements with Chuck Palahniuk's views on nihilism in some of his other books. The man's a bit of a whacko.

What do you mean if I can figure out who you are? Are you prone to wearing false beards and long overcoats? In which case, you'll stick out like a sore thumb.

LOL as fun as that would be i don't wear false beards and long overcoats :p: . I just meant that there are hundreds of new students at UCL..London is pretty huge and you don't know anything about me except that I'm studying psychology and i'm female.... so it will be quite hard to figure out who i am...unless you have amazing detective skills.
