I got an average of 55% at the end of second year, I was wondering what grades do i need to get to achieve a 2:1 at the end of third year?

An average of 65% will let you just scrape a 2:1, so aim a little higher to be sure of the 2:1, but the level will get harder too, so lots of work needs to be done.

I got a 2:2 and now doing my PhD, many years later! There's nothing wrong with a 2:2.

Thank-you, I know there's nothing wrong with it, but I just would like to prove to myself that I can do it. I got 64% for the first part of my dissertation. I had spoken to my tutors and one said I need to get an average of 62.5% this year to attain a 2:1 and another said what you have briefly said. I feel like I'm not going to achieve this.
