Hi I was just wondering if there were any other options other than getting a trainee biomedical science position to do your portfolio? Has anyone found any training courses etc you can do in order to complete this and become registered with the HCPC?

Also there is no other way to get it done other than a job role that allows you to complete your hcpc registration. It is very unfortunate and sad that after graduating we are left with minimal choice. And we're never made aware of any of these circumstances prior to applying for the degree. How can graduate biomedical science students be on the same level as those who haven't got any qualifications. The whole banding system really needs to be looked into in depth.
Have anyone else found the same issues regarding jobs as a graduate with no experience?

The HCPC should have some guidance about this on their website, If not, email and ask.

Im doing a part time distance learning BSc in biomedical science with the University of Ulster. It's accredited by the IBMS and by the ACSLM. Its a 2 year course, but you need to have a science background already. I know in Ireland, where I am working, once I have completed this course and do a 9 month trainee position then I am able to work in Ireland and in the UK. I don't know if you need to do the trainee part if you want to work in the UK, but it might be something to look at for you.
