    Hey guys;

    I missed 2 essay deadlines (5/11/15 and 2/12/15)- I missed the deadlines because I had been going through a really rough time. My aunty had passed away and I had been battling depression.

    Are these valid reasons for not completing an essay until now?
    I feel like they aren't and so I don't know what to say because I want to be completely honest with my Uni.

    At university, you can get extensions and mitigating circumstances for things like this, however, the university may have a deadline for which you have to submit for extenuating circumstances, and some kind of evidence may be required (eg. doctor's note).

    As it's been over 2 months since your first missed deadline and over a month from the second, it's unlikely they'd take things into consideration because it's been so long. Having said that, the best thing to do in the first instance is to speak to your academic advisor, as he can then advise you as to whom to speak to next.
