    so loads of people fail???
Rosie, you've got an offer, right?...So why are you doing it? (and was it included in your offer?)
    yes lots of people fail
    yes i have offers

one of my offers includes it as an alternate offer. but it's either AAAB or AAA + merit which doesnt help me greatly.

I'm doing it because they're interesting and challenging. There are more reasons to challenge yourself with something like AEAs than just to get into university...if you do do well in them, it's something you can be proud of. also say you miss a grade in an A-level for your offer, but do well in an AEA, that can make your uni be more inclined to accept you anyway.

(Also, if you do put them on your UCAS form then decide not to take them, you have to ring the unis and ask if they mind if you drop it. if they say yes you really have to take it although you can just write nothing if its not included in your offer. a bit stupid i know)

how do you do these AEAs?

Does your subject teacher put you forward or do you have to ask them? Just I have never heard of anyone at my school doing them, but I would like to do the Chemistry one.

I can't see the point, really. Extra work for very little gain.

You get entered for them in the same way as you are entered for your normal A2s, usually via your teacher for the subject in question. If you ask to be entered your teacher should be willing, provided s/he thinks that you have a reasonably good chance of passing.

You don't really have to do extra work, you just look through the past papers and turn up for the exam.
