    Does that mean its meant to be cheaper up north? If so dammit I applied to all southern unis haha hopefully I will!

    Surrey, Bristol, Nottingham (vet med) and chem at Bristol and Heriot-watt (so not all southern) although I have changed my mind since applying and would like to do Civil Engineering at Plymouth.... thank goodness for ucas xtra!

    Bristol would be awesome.

    Surrey is very dry, I live here. Wouldn't recommend it. Yes, it's close to London but for a night out in Guildford, it's really poor.

    Notts or Bristol would give you a nice social life in a city. The bigger unis are always better as when they're bigger you've a higher chance of meeting people you click with

    Surrey does seem to look as if it is in the middle of nowhere and didn't top gear used to be filmed in/near Guildford? I quite like Nottingham but am a little put off by the higher crime rates!

    Yeah top gear was filmed just outside Guildford. But honestly, I'd avoid it if you want a decent social life. London isn't far but it's expensive to go out there from Surrey.

    Don't worry about crime rates, generally they affect gangs more than everyday citizens

    Haha okay, at least Nottingham Uni is away from the town centre anyway. Good job I don't plan on joining a gang anytime soon then!

    Yeah, Nottingham is meant to be away from the campus and it's meant to be nice too!
