I'm thinking of taking either psychology or sociology for my 4th A level and I'm not worried about the content of either subject but I'm not sure if my essay writing would be good enough. Do you need a good grade in English at GCSE or can it be something you will learn as you study?

Hey,

Essay writing is something you can always learn to write as you go along. With psychology & sociology your teachers will go through on how to answer them because in the paper there are questions with different marks available and a different approach would be needed (i.e. same writing structure but the number of points needed & if you have a source or an item with the question- would be different)

Psychology its one paper that has all the small questions AND essays and the other psychology paper has small questions with one question worth 10 marks

Sociology - both papers there are smaller questions and essay questions.
