I probably phrased that wrong. For example, some Jehovah Witnesses will say that Jesus is not God the Son. I'm talking more about the concept of Jesus as a part of the Trinity.
Ok JW's, I was wondering. Thanks

I've always wondered about Islamic ideas of a 'anti-christ'.

As I understand it in Islam it is believed Jesus will come down from Heaven (where he is now) and he will kill the antichrist (who is one eyed?), apart from that I'm unsure. Perhaps someone could fill us in.

Could anyone share with us what Islamic teaching says the word 'Christ' means? I ask because it's interesting that the phrase antichrist is apparently used in the Qur'an.

Christ comes from the Greek work Christos, which means anointed one. It is the Greek version of the Hebrew word for Messiah.

I wonder how this 'anti christ' figure knits together with Islamic theology?

Yea I know what Christ/Messiah means to Jews and Christians. I was talking about Islam. For there to be an antichrist figure means that that figure must be anti- or 'against' Christ. Now what I was wondering is who Muslims believe this Christ is and what is his goal.

From my knowledge of the religion, Jesus the prophet will descend and will be the secondary messiah because he will be supporting the main messiah (named Imam Mehdi). I'm not sure whether who will kill the anti-christ, however I do that there will many tyrants, as well as false prophets. As everyone must die, perhaps Jesus will be killed (it's an assumption). The One eyed figure that you mentioned is debated today, there 2 main interpretations (I think), firstly it's literally a man with 1 eye, or it's a movement that promotes anti-religion (and other things), it's main logo/icon will be the one eye. In fact, the one eye logo is present today.
