Internet Usage, how much is 40GB

Looking to change providers, and one of them has a 40GB monthly usage allowance, i dont know how much that is in terms of my useage.

Is it a lot? Whats the average?

I do a bit a bit of downloading, and on the net most days....

Way more than enough. I surf, play on xbox live and download a bit like you. There's also 2 other people on the same connection surfing and downloading. We have a cap of 5gb and usually go over to about 6 or 7, most we've done is like 9gb. 40gb is way more than enough, mate.

40GB is plenty; I'm assuming that you're thinking about switching to TalkTalk, as that's who we're with and they have a 40GB limit. Connection itself is very good, but they have absolutely dire customer service.

I download a lot, and I have to manage several web servers. I also use VPN for college access and I control my home PC from other computers via the internet. I also use youtube etc. and there are 4 others on the same connection (see sig) - we rarely exceed 20gb (but thats because the downloading is done "off-peak" which doesnt count towards the 20gb)...

I remember the days of videos in moving GIF - I still have several gigs of them on my machine - such an inefficient format!

I don't remember if we did/didn't pay for a wired modem the first time we got broadband from them - sorry. But when we upgraded to Vista, the old modem wouldn't work with it, so after much idiocy on their part and me complaining, then sent me a free Vista compliant one.
