    A-level maths:
    C1 (2015)
    C2 (2015)
    S1 (2015)
    C3 (2016)
    C4 (2016)
    M1 (2015)

    Further maths:
    FP1 (2016 resit)
    S2 (2015)
    S3 (2016)
    FP3 (2016)
    S4 (2016)
    M2 or something else (2016)

This is with MEI. On the FP3 competences statement, it said 'FP1 and FP2 are required for Advanced GCE Further mathematics' whereas on the JCQ document, it says 'any two further pure units are required for further maths'.

Can you please tell me which one is correct and thus whether I can do FP3 without FP2 (as MEI FP3 is very different from FP2 and not a continuation).

    Thanks!

It says on here http://www.mei.org.uk/files/pdf/ocr(..._june_2013.pdf (page 23) that you need to do FP2.

(Btw I've moved this thread to maths )

But under 'Grading A Level Mathematics' by JCQ:

    https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourc...urther%20maths

It says 'any two further pure modules' - so which one do I believe?

    Thanks for your help.

MEI. They're the ones awarding your qualification. I'm not an expert on MEI but thinking through the FP3 topics I'd be surprised if there isn't a dependency there.
