Ahhh the colloquial iraqi talk... Sounds like gibberish to me.

All you british arabs have arab friends in the UK? I generally stay away (nothing against them), just can't be bothered to talk in arabic unless I'm in the middle east as I don't find it very easy.

.. and whats a kafkheh?? you mean just a kaf?

I believe in giving women the right to choose - choose to be beaten with a rashdi to the face, a kafkheh to the head, or a na'al to the legs.

Mitsabeeba can have whatever type of bas6eh she likes.

a big old sandy slipper
and the bigger the shoe size, the better the beating.

I just spent two weeks in Jordan and Syria. I intend to specialise in those areas later in life as well (going to study Ancient History and Archaeology). Anyone here ever heard my name before? You get cookies.
I don't really know any Arab yet (you know, asides from getting food and drink and yelling at cab drivers) but I intend to learn the language some day. I was planning to do an evening course at my school this year, but it's no longer available...

Interesting, esp the archaeology. I would have loved to study that.
What did you think of Jordan and Syria?

Zainab is a very common name in Iraq, and is derived from Zenobia (or thought to be, at least).
