Psychotherapist today...

I have a second appointment this afternoon, and to be honest I don't even know why I am going to go. The last time he made me feel anxious, and perhaps that I didn't need to be there - but if I didn't need to, then why would my physiatrist send me there?

He asked me what I wanted out of the sessions, he expects me t tell him tommorow and I have absolutely no idea.

What I want is the ability to wake up in the morning, feel happy, smile, be motivated...but this is not what he wants to hear.

Anyone got any advice?

dont worry about what he wants to hear, u need to tell him what you want to achieve, that is what he wants to hear.

I hope so, it is just aing me feel anxious because if he says something like I am wastinf his time or something, then I don't know...

He gives me the creeps.
They have to bring out your raw feelings, which is why you feel anxious, you need to trust him. You know why you're there...I'm sure you're not there to look at the colour of paint on the walls. Open up to him, tell him what the problem is, he asks you because is isn't a mind reader, be a little more open minded about it all.

I think the problem stems from the fact that I dont know how physcotherapy is dfferent to anything else, what I might gain from it. I obviously want it to work though, I hope so. See how it goes tommorow I suppose.

Tell him that you do not know what you want outof the sessions.
Dude, do you have to go to him? Because seriously, he shouldn't be making you feel like that.

Don't feel like you have to tell them what you think they should hear. And he should want to hear that. Least you have an aim  Tell them the truth. A lot of the time they don't want to stick a label on people and diagnose them as something. That could be why he's acting like this.

See what this sessions like and if he's still making you feel like this, ask to change. Because he's not helping you.

You don't know what psychotherapy is? If you stil want to know PM me hon and I'll explain it to you.
