Hi, does anyone know whether I am likely to be eligible for a childcare grant from SFE? I'm hoping to start adult nursing in september and have 5 children, 3 of whom I will need to pay for childcare with an average cost of £150 per week. My husband earns £30,500 per year(before tax). We currently get tax credits but won't be able to claim childcare costs through them as I won't be working. According to the nhs bursary calculator I will be eligible for a reasonable bursary and maintenance loan but childcare will more or less use all of that up if I can't get a childcare grant, can't find any info anywhere that shows what kind of thresholds are in place for childcare grant. Thanks in advance for any info anybody can give me. x

    Hi

If your course is NHS funded, student finance only offer a reduced rate maintenance loan. Any other funding is provided by the NHS, so I would advise asking this question to them.

    Thanks
