I shaved my public hair a few days ago and now one side has red, itchy spots on it (a lot of them!)

Any advice on how to treat this?

It can happen when you regrow.

I would probably use a very (Very) gentle exfoliant and a warm bath or hot shower. That should open things up and allow more comfortable regrowth

    Shaving rash.
Next time use an exfoliant first, shaving foam, a new razor and a moisturise afterwards.

Trim your hair first, exfoliate gently around the area, use a hair conditioner instead of a shaving foam to get a closer shave, as soon as you're done, pat dry (don't rub it as this irritates the skin) and then get a womens roll on deodorant- just a basic like Dove one works -and roll it down in the direction of the hair, this reduces the risk of razorburn so much ( I couldn't tell you the science behind it but it works wonders) and moisturise after x
