Thanks Would you consider it as 'stepping out of your comfort zone'? If so, how have you moved past this?
Yeah I'm definitely stepping outside of my comfort zone. At first, the day after I signed up, I was really starting to regret it. Then, I thought: "you know what, I might as well just get over it and just enjoy it". I'm really looking forward to it now and I just think it'll be totally worth it!

(watching videos of people who had done it before really helps)

Well because I want to be a dentist in the future I think doing a summer school at Queen Marys would be good. On the website it says
    The Summer Schools includes:
    • A number of practical sessions (including a simulated A&E scenario day)
    • A PBL-based research project culminating in a presentation at the end of the week
    • The opportunity to meet and speak to current Queen Mary Medicine and Dentistry students
    • A number of advice and guidance sessions designed to maximise chances of achieving an offer
I guess they just let you feel what it's like at university.
    Ermm sounds fun lol

    These videos should:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcQnzwVNslg

The second video is better, in my opinion

I'm 19 and did NCS when I was 17, and it was quite honestly an amazing experience. I would definitely go back and do it again if I could, the qualification looks good to uni's, colleges and when applying for jobs too! You also meet a large group of people and make friends so quickly. I would definitely recommend it, it's great to take your mind away from getting your GCSE results too, although just wait until A-level examinations!

I did NCS in Summer 2015 and let me tell you it is one of the best things I have ever done. I absolutely LOVED it, I made lots of friends and had lots of fun doing activities from paddle boarding to banana boating (literally just riding on an inflatable banana pulled by a jetski, so much fun!) The volunteering side is great too, and generally all round it is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who is eligible. I wish I could do it all again - hoping I can be staff in a couple years time!
    Any questions, just message me

edit: sort of misinterpreted your question

But I'm going in the summer not sure about the date. I asked for preference July time.

I did the NCS Challenge in 2013 (gah, I feel so old lmao)

I honestly LOVED it. What is there not to love? There are some things I wouldn't be able to do everyday because I haven't got the money (I went for £10 :gah:) to spend on certain leisure activities e.g. jumping off waterfalls, using professional equipment to put together a film etc.

You get the opportunity to have fun, it's a once in a lifetime experience AND you make great friends. I felt SO nostalgic on the last day, like there were some people I knew I'd never be with in the same room again :emo:

Not completely sure, I do want to go to summer schools and work experience etc.:yep:
It only takes 5 days in total, not a huge chunk out of your lengthy summer holiday.
