    Hi there,

I usually use a Post Office to post my items however I have an item in the smallest jiffy bag available that usually cost 56p (or thereabouts) to send when there is thinner items inside of it. However, I have used one of these jiffy bags for a slightly wider item, giving the package a bit more depth (1.5cm) (but still a very small and light package), which is 1cm over the depth for a standard letter. If I bought second class stamps and put one of them on this package and dropped it off in a postbox, will it make it through to the destination without the receiver having to pay any fees on their end?

    Cheers

I swear that RM make it up as they go along so I usually bung an extra stamp on things that don't meet their exact criteria as they test it in the right sized slot.

I wouldn't risk it. It might be a few more pence to send but if you underpay the person will pay £1 handling fee the other end regardless of how little is owed. I had o pay my post office £1.01 for an envelope that was a tiny bit too long.

if it is 1mm too big then unlikely to be rejected

if it is 1cm too big then they will laugh in your face
