Give it to him with 10% interest. Everyones a winner.
Never a good idea to borrow / lend money to a friend. It will lead to lots of awkwardness when you need it back. Make up some excuse that you need the money for something.

Don't do it, big mistake.

I think Plautus said something like 'if you want to give your money away then lend it to a friend'- it's true, you'll probably never see it again.

Depends what type of friend he is.
if you are 100% sure you will get it back then i say yes.

if you have any doubts id say no, i mean it is quite alot of money.

Yeah you think that until suddenly you find yourself £700 down to a range of your closest friends.
No. One of my housemates is owed £800 from a similar situation - borrowed some money to tide him over, then couldn't pay it back. Now he's starting to, but he's been in debt to her since September.

Bad idea.

Erm, no they wouldnt.
When my sister was 18 she lent £400 to her 'best friend' and never got it back.

It depends, how well do you know him, do you trust that he'll give it back and if so, when he'll give it back. You've also got to think, can you afford to spare the money for what could be a while - dont leave yourself short either.
If you can spare the money, and you trust him, then lend him it - if not, then dont.
If you have any sense, which I don't think you have, you'll say no.

ive done it with smallER amounts and have got it back, but the people i have lent to, have pretty much been family! otherwise, no chance - families break up over this sorta thing, so what are you ... ?

No I don't think you should for several reasons. If this is a mortgage payment he knew it was coming up so should have had money ready instead of expecting someone else to come up with the money at 24 hrs notice.
If he can't keep up with his regular payments what chance do you have of getting your money back? He is always going to put the security of his home before paying you back. Most of us don't have that much spare cash hanging around. If you do happen to have some funds that he knows about say they are all on fixed deposit at bank and can't access them quickly.
I wouldn't do it personally. Always leads to problems later on when you want the money back.

Sounds mean but I would never lend money to anyone apart from my parents!
