Hello

when the student finance application opens up in the next few weeks for university. As a mature student i am wondering if the household income check will effect me as i live with my family (aunt and uncle) but not my parents or guardian in terms of the maintenance grant/loan?

As you are a mature student, household income should not be a problem and you will be individually assessed,in terms of a fulltime job and pay (partime not included). You could potentially get a maintance grant rather than a loan.

Hi

if you are over 25 we would only require a partners income. If you are under 25 but have supported yourself for 3+ years, you may apply as an independent student. We would require evidence for this such as 3 years worth of P60's.

Thanks
