    Hi guys,

I have a training contract secured for 2017 with a mid-size regional firm. They will not be contributing towards my LPC costs so I'm currently weighing up my options.

Obviously there is the Career Development Loan option but I understand that the government is planning to implement a student loan system for Masters degrees from 2016.

I had a quick google there isn't much information on whether or not these loans would apply to LPCs. I could only find this article -http://www.solicitorsjournal.com/comment/autumn-statement-student-loans-lpc.

I would be looking at doing the LPC LLM at Nottingham. I did ask about this issue at an Open Day at the end of last year but the university couldn't really confirm if this system would be in place for the 2016 entry.

Hope someone can provide some insight.

As the woman on the open day said, no details have yet been offered about the government loans other than they would go up to a maximum of £10,000, as with the career development loan. If I was in your shoes I would be working to save up as much money as possible in case it doesn't cover the LPC.
