    Hi. First time here. I'm looking to go to medical school but have few qualifications but I am studying my a levels in chemistry biology and English lit. I would require a 6 year course or so I'm told. Has anyone got any advice? Thanks

    studying bio and chem is enough for medical school. People tend to say you need to take up maths but thats defo not the case. I have a friend at Liverpool who did bio chem and french.
    Should be ok for the 5 year defo at liverpool but check with others

    You'll need GCSE English and Maths at grade C or over for most degree courses these days. That's even being enforced for mature applicants and equivalents are generally no longer accepted from UK applicants. Check the small print on individual course entry requirements if that will be an issue.

    It's a B now for most of them I think. Even UEA upped it's GCSE requirements last year I think.

    Ouch! So glad I applied to uni when I did in 2007 - I certainly couldn't get in these days.

    I know, I mean I know it's a way to make the application process easier for tutors. But it seems quite unfair on mature students who might have higher grades in higher study who still can't apply because of their GCSE's. But such is life I guess.
