My daughter is trying to choose options for A levels ready for September 2016. There is a new course, medical science, would this be enough to get into med school instead of taking Chemistry and Biology separately?

I'm not 100% sure but I doubt it tbh - Chemistry is a requirement at pretty much all Medical Schools.

I doubt it, your best way of finding out is to email specific university Med Departments. I highly doubt it to be honest. For the simple reason that I can't imagine one subject combining the intellectual strength of two of the hardest A levels. Unless this course is worth two Alevels and/ or is really hard.

For medical school it might be wise to study Bio and Chem as separate A levels, the content will serve as a good foundation for Med School content. Especially if as a a doctor you really want to understand 'whats going on' with each patient scientifically.

Hope you find a definitive answer.

    :-) All the best!
