I've been thinking of transferring from my current uni halls to another closer to campus but I'm worried that I'll end up really lonely in a new place as everyone else will have already formed their groups in first term and it's now second term. Has anyone had any experience either in doing this or by having a new person join their flat at a later time in the term? Did you/they still manage to fit in?
My friend moved into her halls around half way into the year and she still made friends with the people and still keeps in touch with some. (She's since moved back home)

I only really made proper friends with my group around this time of year in first year, so it is possible. It just might be a little trickier; but if it's crap going where you are, then no losses anyway, right?
