I have got into hild-bede and its my firm choice, but someone told me I have to walk for about TWO HOURS a day to and from lectures . i am doin maths, and apparently it takes 30mins to get there, then u come back for dinner, then you go again. i know this sounds rli lazy, but its worrying me!! anyone else got durham as their firm choice and going to hild-bede?
Oh ffs, it's not 2 hours at once, and you don't have to come back for meals if you're really that lazy. It's only about 20 minutes to the science site anyway. Hild Bede rocks and no one I know gives a damn about the extra 5-10 minutes scientists have to walk each way.
yeee man ive got hild bede firm ive been up to visit like 3 times..and its rle not thhhat far like 15/20 mins...its a bit up hill but fiiine plus it was sleeting both times and i still love it!
People only say Hild Bede is miles away because it's 'on the other side of Durham' to the other colleges...but Durham is so small that it barely matters.
They're not they have some of the nicest grounds in the whole of Durham. If anything, the bailey colleges are all stoney and cobbley with no grass or trees...ergh...though Hatfield is probably the prettiest out of them.
Hild Bede has a mixture of grass, trees (and a pond), historic nice buildings, an art deco chapel and some nice 1960s architecture as well to round it off! Something for everyone.
