Perhaps. I always arrive like 2 hours before my flight, but I worry about missing flights that's why.

Always arrive at least two hours before your flight's due departure. You don't know how long checking your bags in and going through security will take. If you leave it with only an hour there's a very good chance you will miss your flight

If I don't have luggage to check in, I'll give myself an hour and half

With luggage you should give yourself at least 2 hours

Without a doubt. Get there two hours before regardless of destination.

Even with just hand luggage I get there two hours before. If any time goes spare, it's more time in the bar

Haha I was wondering this yesterday. EasyJet says 2 hrs before, means you have time in case anything goes wrong too.
I usually go through security 40 mins before but I fly from a small airport.

If easyjet recommend you get there 2 hours early then get there 2 hours early.

I used to fly frequently between Liverpool and Northern Ireland and despite the fact going through security never took more than 10 minutes (probably because of flight times and out of season) I always got there very early. Because I couldn't predict if it was going to be a busy day or not, I cut it very fine one day on the way back to England and it was one of the most stressful and scary experiences I've had thinking I was about to miss my flight and be unable to get home.

Look at it this way, which scenario has the potential to get you into trouble. Getting there early? Or getting there late?

it's pretty obvious from that what you should do.

thanks guys! but i forgot to check this thread before going away oops

..got there with an hour to spare - not intentionally, bus to the airport took longer than scheduled. had to walk from bus station to the airport (actually, ran). Had already checked in & travelling with hand luggage only. Did a lot of brisk walking/running to the gate thinking we'd be late but had another 20-30mins to spare sitting around.

Learnt my lesson though, I think id recommend 90mins if anyone else was wondering
