I currently have a conditional offer to begin studying health and social care at level 3 on a CACHE course starting September.

I was just wondering do any of you study health and social care, and can you tell me what it's like? Like what do you study? What assignments do you do?

Thanks

Sorry you've not had any responses about this. Are you sure you’ve posted in the right place? Posting in the specific Study Help forum should help get responses.

I'm going to quote in Tank Girl now so she can move your thread to the right place if it's needed. :yy:

I don't do it at level 3 but did do it at level 2 and we studied topics like Human Lifespan (PIES development for infants, adolescents, early adulthood and later adulthood) Communication, we did a bingo game activity and had classmates as clients in a healthcare setting with additional needs, we had to overcome barriers to communication (braille, sign language, pictures, facial expressions, body language, translator, hearing aid) we were assessed on the activity and then had an assignment where we had to refer to the activity throughout. Other topics were relationships and socialisation with their effects on health and wellbeing.

I think at level 3 you do a placement and I think it could go through the topics I did in Level 2 but in more depth as well as more topics. You'll probably also get many assignments throughout the year.

It's best to look at the college/sixth form info on the course though and attend the open evenings/get in contact with the teachers.

I hope that has helped
