just read a great book, on the science behind learning and memorising things. Things I keep in mind now when I revise.
1) Never just read notes or a text book for revision
2) Before a test such as science or languages (when trying to remember a paragraph) focus on recalling the paragraph will help it stick in your mind more. Memory recollection is the best way to try and learn something.
3) Make a timetable every month indicating what you will specifically study in that month, then at some point in the next month refresh your mind on what you learnt in the previous month. (sounds more complicated than it is!)
But basically don't just learn something in a day or 2 and expect it to be there in 3 months when you go to sit your mocks or actual exam. Wait until you start forgetting it, refresh yourself, answer some questions on it and then you will remember it for a lot longer!

You can get away by reading the textbook the night before.

I do 4/6 hours a day because I desperately want 11 A*/A grades.
