Hi, I'm currently a Engineering student at the UoB.
The School of engineering is held in high regard within the UK and abroad and is in the top 20 in the country in terms of employed graduates within their fields. So the faculty itself is brilliant.
The School of Engineering is primarily based in the Chesham Building on the north side of campus. Its a large building with Lecture halls on the top 3 floors. Multi-disciplinary labs in the basement and floor 1 which also houses the Chesham Cafe and gallery( a great place for hot drinks and sandwich) On floor two there is a engineering specific library (although for more specific books you may have to go to the full size 5 floor JB Priestly Library just a 2 min walk from the entrance) On floor 2 there is also a ample amount of personal study space with desks equipped individual PCs and a wipe board. Floor 3 on the chesham building is the IT floor with over 300 dual monitor PC equipped with all the latest Engineering software from the likes of Matlab all the way to solidworks and Plant3D. The staff are all brilliant as well. The building is 24hour with card access.
Many peoples opinions of Bradford iteself are often misconstrued, The city fell on hard times during the 90s but has largely got back to its feet. I can guarantee within a week you'll love Bradford. In November the city open a large shopping complex with is called the broadway, which is largely dwarfed by the shopping complex's of london, but the quality of the centre is outstanding. There are numerous excellent restaurants, Personal favourites are: Omars(award winning indian) and Mamma Mia ( a highly respected Italian). Theres also North Parade which is home to Bradfords independent cafes and bars. Personal favourites are Forks Cafe and the Record Cafe.
If you have any questions regarding the Uni or Bradford itself, just ask!
