    In my book it says the third step of apoptosis is 'the cell surface membrane changes and small bits called blebs are form'- what exactly are blebs?

    God, I love this word
    "A bleb is a protrusion, or bulge, of the plasma membrane of a cell, caused by localized decoupling of the cytoskeleton from the plasma membrane."
