I can't study at home because I can't concentrate properly.

If I'm at uni, I have to make an effort to go there so it motivates me a bit more. Problem is I get distracted because I end up chilling with my friends.. Nevertheless I still get some work done at uni so I prefer it than doing nothing at home

I prefer at home, I get too distracted as I can't relax in a library and even if I try to study with my friends we just end up chatting lol

I prefer to do straight forward work like essays at home. But I prefer to do things like lab reports in the library with friends and I also prefer to study in groups or pairs, as to me I work better in those situations when I can bounce ideas back and forth with others. Whereas with essays I just get down and do it.

If you've got a lot of reading to do, Coffee shops are a nice encouragement to get through it. :cyber:

At home, because it tends to have everything I need while studying. I can't forget books or paper or pens, I can make tea whenever I want and have snacks, the radio playing etc.

I used to prefer studying at the uni as i could get there at 8am and crack on. If i was at home i would get up at around 11/12, eat, watch tv and it will be 3pm before i start studying.

I usually go to the silent area in the library to get reading done and when I had a piece of coursework I will take my own laptop or hire a uni one and do it in the silent area. However when I'm at home I feel I am equally productive especially when doing coursework and I put music through my speakers. Mind you this is when I am at home from uni, not halls, that's far too distracting

I prefer studying at the college library, but it's only open 8:30 - 5:30, Monday - Friday. Also, there are those people you often get in libraries that don't understand what libraries are for and use it as a social space. I don't mind talking quietly, I do it myself, but laughing and shouting? No.

I can't wait until university when there'll be a 24/7 library. Yes, I'm genuinely excited for that.

At home, because I can get more comfy, there's unlimited tea/coffee etc. and when I revise I talk to myself.

I'm also a bit of a night owl when it comes to revision and do most of my work in the early hours of the morning, when our uni library is shut.

What do you mean by home and university? When I voted I thought you meant home as your permanent residence and university as the whole university, but lots of people are commenting as if you mean home as your halls/housing and uni as the library etc..

Home is where you're staying during your time at university, be it at home or in halls/accommodation

University is pretty much anywhere inside the university (labs, library, classrooms, etc...).

Thanks. I don't think it really matters then for me, just whichever's more convenient at the time.

I hate when people are like that. Doesn't your college have a silent section? We have a silent study room which is were you can go if you want to work in total silence. And then the main one is for people who want to socialise while working.

I prefer doing it at uni because I don't talk with anyone whilst being there. At home, I keep chatting with my mum and don't do much :teehee:

Studying at home is such a myth

Studying in the university library is great at first until you happen to see that friend "Hey *insert name* omg did you see what happened on *insert tv show* last night" The rest is history

So mostly nowadays, I prefer to study in my local library. They have a specialist silent study area with free wifi , always good

Generally at home so that I can eat junk and wear trackies. Though sometimes I'll go to the library just to mix up my schedule, especially in exam season when you're inside most of the time.

Having done both home is way better for me, much more efficient, my parents actually check if I'm working as opposed to uni where my friends will do their utmost to lure me away :unimpressed: food is perfect, healthy and 10000x tastier because I can't cook (and my moms cooking is obviously incredible). I now have a better sleeping pattern too

As long as your university isn't too far and you can still get involved with societies and your parents aren't overbearing I think living at home is by far the superior option.
