Ive gone and offended my new boyfriend even though i didnt mean to. We were in bed at night and he asked for a kiss, I said 'oh ive just cleaned me teeth' and he seemed all offended. It was only when i thought about it i realised how bad it sound but i just meant that theres no point transferring silava etc if my mouth has just been washed . Im not used to relationships plus once ive cleaned my teeth im just used to going straight to sleep, i suppose i'l have to get used kissing afterwards. Whats the best thing to do/say to him now?

    Hi
This is such a minor thing that I doubt it's going to have a major impact on your relationship! If you feel worried that you've upset him, then talk to him about it! Ask him if he's okay, explain that you feel like you've upset him, explain what you meant when you said you'd just brushed your teeth. However, DON'T beat yourself up over this, you didn't know that it would upset him, you didn't intentionally go out of your way to hurt him and at the end of the day you don't ever have to do anything you don't want to do, even if it's something as minor as kissing after brushing teeth! I'm sure it's not a big deal but it's important that you talk to him about it to keep your mind at ease! Good luck my lovely, remember communication is key! xxxxxx

You needn't worry about. But think about it, you just brushed your teeth, so why wouldn't he want to kiss you? I'm sure he's tried to kiss you on other occasions when you haven't brushed your teeth for x amount of time. You could always run to the bathroom (not literally) afterwards and use some mouth wash - actually don't do this part he may be even more offended lmao.

Next time you see him, give him a saucy wink and say "I've not brushed my teeth yet..."

I say this all the time, I've been in my relationship for years. I wouldn't say it's anything to worry about because you're in a new relationship. It sounds like your boyfriend is being a little bit immature and being offended by something so small. I personally would make a joke about it, to show it's silly to get upset and to help him move on from it.
