Paintings exhibition

Hello everyone! I'm new here and this is my first post.

I'm going to study at the university in the UK the next course and apart from my academic life I paint. Where I'm currently living I know how to do to exhibit but I don't know anything about exhibiting in the UK.

Do I have to go to art galleries? Are there any restaurants, bars or other kind of locals where people can exhibit their paintings? What is the normal percentage that people could charge me when I sell my artwork? Here it goes between 10-30% of the sold painting. Should I have some sort of 'artist curriculum' to introduce myself?

Any information about this topic would be great!
