I didn't particularly like the paper either, so much harder than past papers :frown: silly mistakes annoyed me too. Went much better than bio though haha

Yeah true
has anyone made an unofficial mark scheme?
Can anyone please tell me what topics were on paper 1? And what was the application question about.
On paper 1:
Lipids and proteins.
Enzyme action and affecting factors(inhibitors).
DNA/mRNA.
ATP.
Inorganic Ions.
Mitosis.
Diffusion/osmosis/active transport.
Cell membrane.
Immune system and vaccines.
Antibodies in medicine.
HIV/viruses.
I think that was it, and the application question was about enzymes and inhibitors effecting Alzheimer's I think:smile:

Ah, no worries
guys what was the question on immunity about, was it like how does a person become immune or something. and if so what did you have to talk about

mainly b-cells right?
Guys what do you think the grade boundaries will be this year???
Do you think 50/75 would be A???

Predictions update:

Some predictions from my teacher...

These topics have not come up on paper 1:

Protein structure
DNA replication
Water
Inorganic ions

Paper 2: mainly be unit 3 and 4 questions because they hardly came up on the exam and some of the topics above from unit 1 and 2.

Do you mean the question that said 'describe how a vaccine causes the production of antibodies?'

I just put that vaccines contain antigens, which stimulate helper T cells which stimulate B cells to divide by clonal selection into plasma cells. Plasma cells produce many antibodies rapidly

I think they'll be low ish, but I'm not sure. It depends on what paper 2's like

Each paper will have a different grade boundary
[QUOTE=Babyoleg;65329927]Each paper will have a different grade boundary

Yeah I know, but if paper 2's easier then paper 1's boundaries will be higher - like we can't tell whether this paper was easy or hard in comparison, if you get me? Haha
Does anyone have the set 2 papers that they wouldn't mind sending me?
