Sleep

Im nto sure if this is the right place to post this but i was wondering if any one might be able to help me. I have been having trouble with sleeping, its not that i can sleep its that i sleep to much. Im usally only awake 3-4 hours then have to sleep my doctors said it isnt anything medical. I have tried proplus but its made me want to sleep more so we are assuming that caffeine isn’t a stimulant for me. Does any one have any ideas on how I can stay awake because its really difficult to get any decent college work done.
just to clarify -

after 3-4 hours do you literally need to lay down and sleep or are you just tired?

dont take pro plus if you want to sleep? go to sleep 10 hrs a night, no coffe and stuff, then you will feel ok
How long are you sleeping at night? and what time do you go to bed/get up on normal weekdays/weekends?
i assume you've looked at the food you eat, are you eating the right things? what time are you actually going to bed in the evening? Are you feeling under pressured with anything ie course work, girlfriends etc?

Apart from saying to you, make sure you have 3 decent meals a day (including fruit, veg, orange juice), take a 10minute walk every day, stay off coffee + tea coz in the long run it makes you more tired once the caffine's worn off, and be in bed by no later than 12, make sure you have a minimum sleep of 7-8hours per night - i dont really know what to advise personally, sorry

Have you thought about taking mini-naps during the day? (for like 20 minutes)

Stress is making me feel tired atm.
Also must be asked if you're on any other medication at the moment.

Are you mentally tired or physically can't move?

If it is only physical, could you do your revision lying down in bed?
its both really some one suggested it could be stress but i cant stop being stressed because not being able to stay awake to do the work that is stressing me out is stressing me out!!

If that makes sense

Might be a psychological issue.

Try sleeping less?
Well if you are continually stressed about being stressed - then i think you need to find some way to relax and take your mind off it. I know you've said you have alot of work, but find time to relax whether its swimming or even walking with some head phones on in the sun. Sorry thats the best i can come up with

Eat lots of oranges and tangerines. I mean lots. Vit C is what you need. Coffee does not work on people when they are stressed, it only makes things worse. And yeah, do exercise. Advice from Dr uncle.

ps: Oranges oranges and oranges.. oh yeah and oranges.
I fall asleep if I'm just sat on my bed watching tv, it drives me mad! I've started taking iron tablets because I was anaemic when I was younger and thought it might be that (and they were on offer at holland+barrat), but I think for the most part I just need to keep myself busy and away from my bed.
Perhaps you should shift your desk near a window and have it open, a cold breeze might keep you awake longer.
I have hardly ever seen threads where people actually sleep too much.
I find the computer or TV stimulates my brain.
