I recently attained a D in english language and a C in English literature which is obviously not good enough. However, without revising whatsoever i got A*s in Maths, computer science, Physics, Biology and Chemistry. This made me wonder wheter there was any way to learn English and literature in a logical way, similar to maths? How can someone with a maths favoring mind like my own do well in English?

My advice would be to approach English from a logical perspective. In maths you learn that 4+4=8; in English, learn that a premodifier comes before the noun. That sort of thing. Teach yourself the rules of grammar like you would the rules of working out a sum. As for the literature part, focus on the logical stuff; the form, the structure, the language. When you're asked to write a film review, for example, think logically about it before you think creatively. The purpose is X, the structure has to be X and the rest will come naturally.

Well done on your other grades by the way, they're fantastic.
