    Hello everyone.

    My situation:

Finished IB school with 28 out of 42 (a really poor score).
Currently - a junior in BA Computer Science in Vilnius University, Lithuania, and also working part-time as a Junior Python Developer.

I would like apply to PhD Cambridge CS course in 2019.

    Questions:
    1) Should I concentrate on retaking IB exams to make my score better, or should I put more effort on doing various side projects with math and coding, which could be then talked about.
    2) Should I have almost perfect BA diploma (with grade > ~ 85%) (I'm almost sure I should).
    3) Do retake exams score override the original failed exam scores in University, in BA diploma?

The main question could be formulated this way:
Should I focus more on my work experience and side projects, or on academic achievements (IB retakes and Uni. BA diploma), or both should be absolutely perfect?

    Thanks

They don't even ask for school exam grades in a PhD application. Get the very best undergraduate grade that you can.

Exactly. It's about getting a first, or a 2:1 and then a high masters qualification (if you're looking for a scholarship), if not, then the entry requirements aren't as stringent.
