Taking a fifth AS subject watch

    • Thread Starter

I have my interview for Sixth Form in a two weeks, and I'll be having it with the teacher responsible for Oxbridge applications (I've indicated i'd like to go there on my application to sixth form, i want to study either law or economics and then law conversion). My school, like most, makes people do 4 at AS and then drop one for A2 and I'm currently considering Maths, Economics, History and Philosophy. But, in case I end up wanting to study economics, I will probably ask at the interview about the probability of doing Further Maths as a 5th one, as my schools lets high-achieving students take an extra one if it's suitable. My question is, would I be too overwhelmed with work if I choose to do further maths as well (i am quite good at maths and pick things up fairly quickly btw). Have any of you who have taken a fifth felt it has compromised the UMS you got across subjects, as in did you spread yourself too thinly. Also, did you drop one or two subjects for A2?
