    Hello,

The GCSE requirement for Manchester Medical School is A*-C grades with at least 5 being A*/A.

    My GCSE grades are:

    1 A*
    4 A
    4 B

I meet the requirement....but how likely am i to get an interview/offer ?

Does Manchester look beyond the minimum GCSE requirement ?

Lets say i have AAA at A-level and a UKCAT of 680 , will this be sufficient to receive an offer ?

    One last question,

What are some other 'less' GCSE heavy Medical Uni's ?

    Thank you.

I'm afraid that none of us can say how likely you are to get an interview/offer as it depends on so many factors. Your GCSEs should be fine as long as you avoid GCSE Heavy Med Schools, but you'll need to make sure you absolutely nail your A-Levels/UKCAT etc., write a good PS, get plenty of voluntary work and work experience etc.

In terms of less heavy GCSE Med Schools, have a look here: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/cont...e-requirements (but some may be out of date now so it'd be a good idea to confirm things on each Medical School's website).

Exeter, Plymouth, Newcastle and Durham none of these unis look at GCSEs they are more concerned with A-levels and UKCAT
