    Hi,

I was granted an extra year to repeat some of year one at uni. However a decline in my mental health resulting in a short stay within hospital has happened.

Basically not been that great for the past few months. Now missed deadlines after extensions. Struggling daily never mind uni work.

I assume SAAS will not help me again? Awaiting to see my Psychiatrist so fingers crossed medication change helps.

Disappointed that I might have blown my chance at uni but struggle to get up in the mornings and do every day tasks. Utter disaster!

    Thanks

If you lose a year due to health reasons, you should still be able to claim back that year of SF entitlement with the appropriate medical evidence.

Yes. If you have compelling personal reasons, it's not counted as a +1.

Yes. As Tiger Rag says, if you fail/leave a year for reasons beyond your control and you can produce third party proof to that effect, it will override the rules on funding limits. SF call it the Compelling Personal Reasons (CPR) process. To claim it, there's an extra form to fill in - I think you need to phone SAAS and get them to send it to you.
