Rating of nightlife in Exeter out of 10? Are there many places to go out there? Is it a very large town? Also; is there a good ratio of boys to girls?

Nightlife is pretty tame in comparison to other places (nights out start a lot earlier in Exeter, normally you have to get to the club for 9pm and it closes at 2am). But there are quite a few different clubs - three main clubs, then one campus club and a gay club. To put it bluntly if you're coming from a big city it's VERY basic and you will see everyone you know on a night out (which I personally love!).
I'd say the ratio for girls to boys is pretty much 50/50, depending on the night out (The infamous 'Cheesy Tuesdays' are more girl dominant, whilst 'TP Wednesdays' are filled to the brim with rugby lads). Exeter has a ominous reputation of having a very attractive student body which can make nights out a bit of a pulling fest.
