I would say smoking would obviously reduce his chance of winning games and he would be foolish to do so as would any professional athlete. Having said that Henman trains at my gym and it doesn't look like stamina is a problem.

I know Cantona used to be a 40-a-day men when playing for Man U! Can't be that good though, if I smoke before a football match I definitely get out of breath easier than if I don't. Depends how many he smokes and when he does it. He's also maybe under a lot of stress, diddums...

Didnt know smoking had a short term effect as well, thought it was just long term??

I guess that being the only pretty decent GB player just increases the pressure.

It was reported in the observer that apparantly Tim Henman smokes  . I can't believe it. I mean, he probably decreases his chances of winning games, cos of reduced lung capacity...
What do you guys think?

You people disgust me, so quick to join the cult of Henman, to immerse yourselves in Henmania every time Wimbledon comes along and then knock the poor guy when he shows his human traits, like losing and, seemingly, smoking. Shocking, it really is.

A piglet indeed!

Don't you just live it when a thread goes way off topic?

I don't live it as such, i do love it though. (I'll regret doing that because i make more typos then anyone.)

The topic made was crap anyway, i think our new conversation will be a welcome change of topic. Do you have any names for the piglet? How about...*thinks*...piglet? That may border on child abuse though.

There was a massive thread about that called 'what shall I call my baby?'. Public opinion seemed to plump for Ethan for a boy and Eloise for a girl, which are very high up on the list.

I indeed saw that post, but i don't post in that sort of thread because i know that whatever i read just blows straight over me because all it is is listing names, there's no variation, which means nobody will notice my post, making it a waste of time. May i recommend Ben, inspired by a rather amazing person, obviously.

I reckon the common names are the best...tom, mark, chris, etc!

So what, is he not allowed to smoke, is there some kind of law against it?
Oooo and what is the surname, if you don't mind handing it out on the internet...

I agree with imasillynarb - with common names you have less chance of the child ending up hating it or being picked on for it.

Billy is the best name ever.

I think Gary tops it personally..
