Ouch. Hope it goes ok for you!

I had a bottom one out a few years ago and it wasnt a pleasant experience I must admit. Lots of blood, and if I remember rightly it took a while to heal, much longer than when Id had other teeth out anyway. And when I got out of the chair I was so shocked I nearly passed out..... my dentist made me sit in the chair for a good half an hour 'recovering' before I felt well enough to get up! It was just the shock I think, as Id really worked myself up about it all!!!

Having said that though, Im sure you'll be fine.

And anyway, just think of the results- a little discomfort for a whole lifetime of having them out and no more hassle from them after that!!!

I've had mine done, really not that bad.
What problems do you have with your wisdom teeth? I've had all of mine come through, i never really noticed them appearing.

My wisdom teeth are all here and except for a bit of annoying inflammation/discomfort that comes approx. once a year, it's not doing much harm leaving them there.
When I went to get my wisdom tooth taken out the dentist didnt give me enough anaesthetic and as he was yanking out my tooth I felt the pain. It was horrible I was screaming and crying at the same time and he actually stopped and said are you upset at the shock or does it hurt? I was like it hurts!!! And he stopped to let me calm down, the dental nurse had to come in and comfort me while he came at me with more anaesthetic and then he started pulling again. When it was finally over I came out all red eyed and sullen and everyone looked at me cause they must have heard my screams..

I've had one of mine removed. The dentist sawed it to four pieces before pulling each out one by one. It seemed to take an eternity for him to get to the last piece. The bad part was of course afterwards when the place where it used to be was swollen. And the stiches felt uncomfortable.

Don't think my story's horrendous enough but whatever...

i had mine out. was asleep through it though so didnt actually feel anything. wasnt really sore after - gums just felt a bit bruised and bled for a couple of days. the constant taste of blood in your mouth is err wonderful. but a couple of days after they were fine, and now theyre gone = no more toothache. yay!!
When are your wisdom teeth meant to come through?? I haven't seen hide nor hair of any of mine yet!
Oh my god.... I went to my first appointment a few weeks ago. I have to get all four out so I went for a general anasthetic. I'm so glad I did after reading this thread! I have never had any kind of anasthetic or operation before and I know I am going to be terrified. Argh I'm leaving this thread before I can work myself up about it even more!!

I'm having my wisdom teeth taken out tomorrow morning under general anaesthetic! How weird that a thread has just cropped up on this subject! I'm really nervous but at least when they're gone, that’s it, no more trouble
I've only had one come through fully, and there was space for it so it wasn't an annoyance, just painful!!

I can feel one coming up at the bottom now though, give it a few months and it'll all be popped out, but there isn't room for that.

Well, quite simple. Right side hd one jab of local, and then it was out. Wierd feeling, and all the crunchy noise! Left side needed 3 jabs of local, and then it was out. No stitches! Looking forward to next round of nureofen though.

I was off my face for a bit but have had two icecreams and now having nsome lukewarm soup.
