Thought the exam went well but I'm so annoyed about Brexit that I don't even care.

I am thinking 3? Not 100% tho you'll probs only be -1, if that dw
F*ck! Easy mark lost.. every mark counts, this year will be high boundaries.
3. (Original post by d14m)
Can someone please confirm whether or not there was a misprint on question 6, if so how will Edexcel mark this question?

Was that the integration with the chain rule?
4. (Original post by Mattematics)
Agree with all of these. Need to double check my volume, 512pi -somethingpi? Think I also got 4/3pi -root3?
I gota volume of 544 π for the Cylinder and 204.8 π for the Dome.
Then,
544π -204.8π = 339.2 π
5. anyone know how many marks for question 4? And what did question 5 ask??

Can confirm I got these answers.
Yes!! I hardly every get 100% I just hope you guys are right

Would 71 on C3 and 68 on C4 be A* overall do people think?
yeah
9. For the last question i got everything right except i substituted lambda=+-2/5 to EP instead of E by mistake. How many marks would you think I'll lose?
10. Unofficial MS - no guarantees

overall slightly above average but that's to be expected. Fairly nice paper.

The misprint was on question 6. It said

Question 6:

(i) ........

(ii) (a) .........

In actual fact the (a) should have been before the (i)

It has no effect on anything though, it would be nice to get a mark or two for noticing.

Can Someone verify if all of these are correct. I believe I got everything here - I just couldn't remember what the last term for Q1 was - but I distinctly remember the first 3 terms
actually I think the last term of the binomial is -625/4 that definitely seems more familiar to me, so that is 3 x 4 x -5 x (5/2)^3 x 1/6 (pretty sure that's correct method
Is that what you got?

I gota volume of 544 π for the Cylinder and 204.8 π for the Dome.
Then,
544π -204.8π = 339.2 π
Yup, I got it wrong. Didn't do the cylinder to the y axis

For the volume question, how was it 544pi? It had to be 576pi as u had to work out the whole cylinder and take it away by the integral surely!
The volume of the cylinder was pi(64 x (17/2)) which is 544

nah bro cos it was ii)a and ii)b lol
stop talking bout misprints before you give me a heart attack!

I'm in the same boat as you my friend, everything there is what I had - the only one I am a little uncertain about is the last term of the binomial
Im pretty sure that will only lose us 1 Accuracy mark if that's the case anyway But we've probably just forgot :P We could still get 100 UMS if we were wrong still.
17. Can someone explain how the volume wasn't 576Pi-1024/5Pi.. !??!?! Did anyone else use 9 for the height of the cylinder and 8 for the radius??

My full solutions:

1) 1/8 - 15/16 x + 75/16 x^2 - 625/32 x^3

2) 0.6595, 1.083, 8/3 ln(2) - 7/9

3) (-2-4xy)/(2x^2 + 4 + pisin(0.5pi)), (3pi+62)/(pi+22)

4) x=e^(ln(60)-2.5t)), 633 mins

5) (-5root(3)/16), (4,5root3)

6) 3ln(3y+2)-2ln(y)+c, lambda=8, 4pi/3 - root3

7) k=17/2, 1696pi/5

8) {3,5,0}, r = {1,5,2} + lambda{-5,4,3}, k=2, cos(theta)=4/5, area=12/5, possible positions {3, 33/5, 16/5} and {-1, 17/5, 4/5}
Shdnt q6 be 4pi/3 - root3/2 ? As i rmb it's 4(pi/3 -root3/8) fro the previous step?

We shall see when the paper comes out. Imagine if it was actually significant tho haha

20. Would I lose a mark for writing 2.40 instead of 2.4 for the area of vector. I used sin 36.7 that's why.
