    it was hard at first
    then it got easier

    i couldnt solve the identity question...cause of the exam stress though..but i however managed to do the rest and i am pretty sure most of them are correct

    MAn,i knew how to do it, but hell i coudnt do it! dunno why???

    all you had to do is just change cot x into cos 2x/sin 2x
    then just combine cos 2x/sin 2x and 1/sin 2x
    you`ll get the answer...pretty easily done...
    but oh well..

    yeah it was a resit cause i had a 78 last time
    and i wanted to make it a 90 just in case if i screw up on p3

    what did you mean by the whole question?
    the first part was really easy
    they said

    Sec 2X
    then you have to use
    1/Cos2X
    1/1-2Sin²X
    put the value of sin x in to that and just calculate

    by the way, what was trhe exapnsion in the Expansion Quetion? and WTF is the independent value?

    i cant remember the expasnsion
    i just know theres an x^36 in the front
    and a 55/2 somewhere...or was it something bigger?
    cant remember...

    and when they said independent
    it was meant to say that there is no x term beside the coeeficient

    the answer is 12C9(1/2x)^9(x^3)^3
    calculate it out
    it should be quite small...in fractions id guess
    this answer im quite sure

    I must say that P2 didnt go too bad for a first time (and only )

    I screwed up on question 2b where you had to prove the identity, well maybe if im lucky the examiner will find some marks on the page where I randomly wrote down stuff which then led to = cotx

    What did the graph look like in the last question? I just got confused with the modulus of it :confused:

    Anyways, hopefully this P2 will make up for the terrible P3

    I thought that was a bit nasty... maybe not on the same nastiness level as the P3, but still a bit evil

    Did anyone manage to do the last one? the ln|3x-6| graph?
    I could draw the right hand side, with asymptote at x=2, but I didn't know what to do to the other side!

    I hope the grade boundaries are low, the past papers have been pretty easy until now, and all of a sudden they get hard, just in the crucial year!

    for me i find p2 relatively easy, its a resit for me and yeah ! crap with the tricky identity question.. i spent almost 1/2 hour doing it.. initially 10mins trying to do it, found out time's against me, then skipped it, completed it within the last 20mins, i went to expanding up the tan2a, 2tan²a and all , anyway this is the solution

    prove

    cot2x+cosec2x=cotx

    LHS:

    tan2x+1/sinx

    cos2x/sin2x+1/sin2x

    (cos2x+1)/sin2x

    then u use identities to convert it

    2cos²x/2sinxcosx

    - cancel cosx on top with bottom -

    2cosx/2sinx

    cosx/sinx

    1/tanx

    cotx

    the others were easier.. i just hope i didn't do any careless mistakes, touchwood
